Leah: Born on January 28, 1896 in Bialystok, Russia (later Poland). She died in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on August 12, 1948 (8th Av) aged 52 years.
Maishke (Morris): Born in Bialystok. Meishke, also known when he was in Bulawayo in 1935 as Maurice Barry, returned to Poland to be with his family. Married Rose and had one child. Sadly they all perished in the Holocaust. It is believed that Meishke joined the guerillas in the forests of South Poland.
Yisroel: War broke out five months after his son, Aronchik's Bar Mitzvah. They all perished in the Holocaust.
Morris (Mo Berkowitz): Born in Bialystok. Died in South Carolina, U.S.A.
Avreml: Born In Bialystok. Avreml's wife and daughter died of typhus in Pavlodar, Siberia during the war. Avreml perished in the Holocaust.
Jacob: Born In Bialystok. Married Chava (nee Schmidt). During the war, Jacob, Chava, his daughter, granddaughter and grandson, Shlomo (born in 1938) were sent to Pavlodar, Siberia. Jacob, Chava and Shlomo survived and managed to get to Israel where they settled. His three sons and their families perished at the hands of either the Russians or the Nazis. Shlomo was brought to Bulawayo, Rhodesia by Morris, Freddy & Rena. Shlomo died in Johannesburg in December 1972.
Eschel: Born in Skidel, Poland in 1892. He was married Riwka. During the war he was in Lunna, Poland. Eschel was murdered in the Shoah.
Itzik (Ike Berkowitz): Born in Bialystok. Lived and died in U.S.A.
Sarah (Shawzin): Born in Bialystok. Married Phillip Shawzin around 1910.
