Abraham & Chaya Sheina (nee Jakobcyner) Kaczprowski

(had 5 sons and 5 daughters, all born in Szczuczyn, Russia, which later became Poland in 1917)

Children (Generation #2)

Yishai (Shai): Shai was the first Kaczperowski to become an Abrahamson (son of Abraham) when he arrived in Malmo, Sweden. Before the war he also owned an apartment Charlotteburg, Berlin which was stolen from him when he was forced to flee the Nazis. Returned to Sweden where he married and had three children, Doris, Edith and Arnie. Doris married and became Doris Rosenthal. The Rosenthal family all perished in the Holocaust. Edith went to Israel in 1936, married Fritz Weiss and had two children, Zvi and Uri.

Nachum (Nathan): Went to USA, changed his name to Casper. Died in car accident in later years. Had 2 children; Seymour Casper (living in USA) Law Professor, 2 daughters; Alice Rosen (deceased), had 2 children; Sandra Weinreb & Andrew Rosen (all living in USA).

Liebe: Liebe and her family all perished in the Holocaust.

Gutke: Morris and Leizer arranged for Gutke’s husband to come out to Rhodesia to be employed as a shochet in Bulawayo. This was an idea that if he were fully employed, he would then send for his family. Unfortunately this plan didn’t work because he didn’t approve of the Kashrut observances in the butchery which also sold ‘treif’ meat to the general public. As a result he returned to Poland where he perished with the rest of his family in the Holocaust.

Solomon: Together with his brother, he and Morris joined their elder brother, Shai in Malmo, Sweden in 1908. They all changed their name to Abrahamson (son of Abraham, their father). In 1912 they all went to South Africa and thereafter onto Rhodesia. Solomon settled in South Africa and married Janie Lurie and lived in Pretoria. They had two children, Harold and Daphne. Harold married Celia Hoffstein and they had four daughters, Suenette (married Steven Maron and live in America), Denise (married Lanny Rootenberg and lived in Toronto) and had one son, Marc; Clare (married Eytan Gafni and live in Israel) and Lynne Abrahamson (living in Sydney, Australia). Daphne married Victor Benyamin.

Morris: Born in Szczuczyn, Russia in March 20, 1891. Morris died in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on March 30, 1985 (10th Sivan) aged 93 years.

Chinka (Helen): She and Dorothy were sponsored by their brother, Nachum to join him in USA. Helen married Oscar Weisberg and had 2 children; Arlene married Sol Barkoff and had 3 children; Neil, Rhonda and Mathew all in USA; Arthur (deceased, no children).

Dwerche (Dorothy): She and Helen were sponsored by their brother, Nachum to join him in USA. She married Hyman Zohn and had 3 children; Shirley married Irving Pullman and had 2 children, Lawrie and Marc; Rhoda married Bill Hoffman and had 2 children, Rhonda and Amie.

Eliezer (Leizer): Born in Szczuczyn, Russia in April 2, 1899. Leizer died in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on May 10, 2007 (21st Iyar) aged 108 years.

Rushke: Ruske and her family all perished in the Holocaust.
